Many Baltimore City schools will remain closed today

Full list of public schools that will be closed on Tuesday, June 8, and revert back to virtual learning

At least 33 public schools in Baltimore will remain closed today due to no air conditioning or air conditioning “under repair.”

Many of the same schools dismissed classes yesterday after the region experienced its first heat wave and students and faculty returned to sweltering classrooms on Monday morning.

Students “will participate in virtual learning today [June 8],” said an online announcement from City Schools, as teachers scramble to conduct lessons from home.

In addition to the 26 schools (listed below) without air conditioning and closed today, seven schools will be shut because their ac systems are currently under repair, according to the announcement. They are Highlandtown #215, Hampden, North Bend, Liberty, George Washington, Mary Ann Winterling and Garrett Heights.
